It is our pleasure to invite you to the 1st official Society for Interdisciplinary Placebo Studies (SIPS) conference on placebo studies. The conference will be hosted by the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences of Leiden University. It will take place from April 2 to 4, 2017 in the beautiful historical city center of Leiden, the Netherlands. Leiden is located just half an hour outside Amsterdam and 15 minutes from Schiphol airport.
The SIPS conference is devoted to medical, psychological, and neurobiological research on placebo effects, and will also address ethical dilemmas and treatment options. The conference will offer researchers and clinicians interested in placebo effects the opportunity to meet each other, learn about the latest research findings, and present their work. Confirmed keynote speakers are Ted Kaptchuk, Christian Büchel, John Kelley, Katja Wiech, and Fabrizio Benedetti. Both junior and senior researchers are given the chance to present their work either orally or as a poster.
Also, we would like you to experience all the great things that Leiden has to offer, including its lively city center with characteristic canals and waterways, its rich and glorious history and culture, and its long-standing academic tradition in the oldest university of the Netherlands (where the royal family enjoyed its education)!
Important update: Due to the enormous interest for the conference, registration is no longer possible.
All presenters who have not yet registered, will receive a personal mail with a registration link.
Special request and questions regarding registration can be send to SIPS2017@fsw.leidenuniv.nl.
We look forward to seeing you in Leiden in 2017!
